John Scalzi's Old Man's War is a great piece of old-fashioned science fiction. I honestly have no idea why it took me so long. Most of them are SF Novels and I've just finished the first set, being a great five book series by John Scalzi titled "Old Man's War". So, I finally broke down and read Old Man's War. Wolfgang Petersen (Troy) is attached to direct an adaptation of 'Old Man's War' - the story of a 75 year-old man who returns to battle when his mind is transferred into a younger body. A lot of today's science fiction is written by people trying to speak out about the environment or other social issues. I shouldn't have been worried that it would disappoint - it didn't. Anyone who has lived in Seattle, or even many who have passed through, have probably seen some Dick's. So, I chose to read his debut novel, Old Man's War, to finally get a look at what Scalzi is all about.
